Pricing Options

We offer a variety of decorating plans to suit your individual needs and budget.

In Home Consultation:  We can be hired simply by the hour.  During a one or two hour consultation we can answer your specific design questions to help you to avoid costly decorating mistakes. We can select a bedding set from dozens of selections and swatches, coordinate paint colors or faux finishes, rearrange furniture and accessories, decide upon window treatment styles, and provide a list of additional recommended changes, furnishings and accessories. We can help you to decide upon a theme for your nursery or child's room and design a specific decorative paint plan that coordinates beautifully with your chosen bedding fabrics and theme. We will leave you with specific suggestions to help make your child's room more beautiful and functional.     Hourly fee for Carroll County: 75,  Baltimore, Howard Co. and Southern PA: $100. (Other  locations involve more travel time and expense on my behalf.)

Personal Shopping: Many busy homeowners don't have the time or resources to shop for the perfect furniture or accessories for their homes, and many just don't enjoy it! Many retailers offer discounts and even wholesale pricing to interior designers.  I can often save you money by shopping with you. We can go shopping for you or with you.  Hourly fee:  $75.

Complete Visual Design Plan:  After an initial in home consultation, we can be hired to design a complete visual room plan including a 1/4" scale furniture floor plan, photos, swatches or samples, and shopping list for specific furnishings and finishes. The shopping list includes photos and prices for each item. I do the shopping and selections for you based on our discussions during the initial in home consultation, saving you many hours of searching for the perfect items.  This package includes many hours of my time shopping and putting the design plan together plus a return visit to your home or office to present the plan to you.    Fee:  $300.

Faux Finishes / Decorative Painting: (Ragging, Sponging, Dragging, Color Washing, Stippling, etc) During an initial in home consultation to determine the type of finish and colors desired, I will provide you with a cost for the faux finish.  Pricing will depend upon the size of the room and finish desired.  For a faux finish, the cost would be approximately $4 per square foot, depending on the finish desired. This includes the cost of materials and labor for application of the decorative finish over an existing base coat.  This does not include the cost of the base coat of paint.  I can recommend a painter who can provide this service to you if you desire, or in some cases I can do the base coat for an additional fee. I charge by the square footage rather than by the hour so that I can take whatever time necessary to ensure a beautiful finish that my client will love. 

 

Stenciling, Stamping and Murals are also available, however pricing will vary greatly depending upon your individual plans. (The average stencil or stamp design would cost $2.00 / linear foot / layer for application for a border style.  For more of an overall stamping or mural design the site and design would have to be evaluated before determining a price.)  

 

Online Interior Design Consultation:

We now offer online consulting for our clients who live outside of our Maryland service area.  Simply email  the following to contact@jackandjillinteriors.com 

  1. Your name, phone number, address and email address (and a good time to reach you by phone)

  2. Decorating dilemmas (list  up to 10 questions)

  3. If required, list and describe items you currently own and plan to use within the space (or attach photos if possible*)

  4. If required in order to answer your questions, give room dimensions and window and door locations (or attach a floor plan if you have one for the room*)    * Be sure that any photo attachments have been reduced in size prior to sending (you can reduce image sizes in Adobe and other similar programs)

I will then contact you by phone to verify credit card  payment and ask any questions I have about your project.  Once your credit card has been approved, I will begin working on your project and then  email you a list of suggestions, answers to your decorating questions and a list of additional recommendations including any furniture recommendations, paint colors and paint finishes, bedding and accessories when neccessary.  With these recommendations I will also provide you with a list of resources through which you can purchase the recommended items and their prices. When possible, photos of the recommended items will be attached to the email.  You will receive your completed consultation within 1-2 weeks.

$50   to simply answer a few questions (up to 5) - no floor plan issues or shopping research needed. In this case, only steps 1 and 2 above need to be completed.

$300   if a  floor plan needs to be completed along with a shopping list of recommended items. (I would be putting approximately 4-5 hours into this type of project...this is an excellent deal!) In this case, complete steps 1-4 above.

 

Gift certificates are available.  A one-hour consultation makes a perfect gift for a baby shower, baptism, housewarming, mother's day or birthday. Gift certificates can also be applied toward the purchase of ready-made nursery bedding.
